HENAR TORINOS (Valladolid, 1984)

Henar Torinos was born in Valladolid, where she studied the professional course of Illustration in the school of Arts and crafts in Valladolid. Afterwards, she moved to Madrid to continue her studies and make a living in the big city. She has worked as a designer, illustrator and animator, but her true passion has always been comics, especially manga, which have always occupied most of her time. She started in the world of comic releasing the fanzine Mystic Legend, a project she created with some school mates and artists she met through Internet. She has collaborated with several fanzines and magazines in Spain, Mexico and Argentina. Nowadays she combines her comic projects with her work as freelance illustrator and designer.

She is the author of the comic Mala Estrella, awarded with the Prize to the Best Spanish Manga Author in the Manga Convention in Barcelona 2012, Tragedy and Busy Bitches.
